According to the Ministry of Defense, half of the Russian army consists of contractors.
‘Half of the staff of the Russian Armed Forces consists of contractors,’ says Nikolai Pankov, Deputy Defense Minister.
‘Nowadays we have 300 thousand contractors filling the posts of private solvers and sergeants. We also have about 200 thousand officers. 50% of the Russian army consists of contractors,’ Interfax-Azerbaijan cites him as saying.
‘In the context of the military mortgage, 51 thousand contractors have solved their housing problems," Pankov said.
