Iran plans to increase exports of medical isotopes

Iran intends to reconstruct its nuclear facilities to expand the exports of medical isotopes, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi said

"Iran exports isotopes, which are used for medical purposes in a number of countries in the region and aims to reconstruct its nuclear facilities to expand the export of such isotopes,"  he said in an interview with state television Iribe, in which the future of the nuclear deal was discussed.

Noting that the company Fordo and the Nuclear Center in Arak continue to function, the head of the AEOI reminded that "Fordo has been created in order to establish the process of uranium enrichment, not to produce enrichment on an industrial scale."
