Kazakhstan hopes to resume oil production at the Kashagan field in 2015, or in 2016, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a press conference in Astana today.
The president noted that companies such as KazMunaiGas are working on this issue, and it will cost over $2 billion to resume oil production at the Kashagan oil field. According to him, the revenues from Kashagan oil will help to implement the planned programs in Kazakhstan, Novosti-Kazakhstan reports.
