Georgian President to rebuild country's agriculture

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, attended the beginning of autumn work in Kakheti region and took part in planting a new American variety of wheat in Kvareli, Business Georgia reports.

The President touched on the situation prevailing in the area of agriculture and its future prospects, and pointed out that the government should introduce new technologies in this field. The help of the new Georgian elite, which has acquired experience abroad, will be needed to lay the foundations of the new agriculture in the country.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia has to get rid of the ugly approaches prevailing in the era of communism and rationally develop agriculture. According to the president, the problem of mechanization and irrigation have to be solved for the development of Georgian agriculture.
