European Investment Bank to help Ukraine rebuild Donbas

The European Investment Bank will grant Ukraine a loan worth 200 million euros to help the eastern parts of the country recover. Part of the funds will be invested in the development of the oblasts of Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv, Gazeta.ru reports.


Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the ratification of the financial agreement made by Ukraine and the European Investment Bank on December 22, 2014. The loan will be transferred in tranches of 13-40 million euros. The financial agreement was signed by Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and EIB Vice President Lazslo Baranyay.
