Iran hopes to launch a barter deal with Russia under the scheme ‘oil-for-goods’ as early as next week, Oil Minister of the republic Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said.
"We hope that next week they will produce the first imports (of oil),’’ RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
The minister also added that Tehran needs to see how much oil the Russian Federation will need.
At the same time, in mid-April, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the implementation of an ‘oil-for-goods’ barter deal with Iran is already under way. According to the diplomat, in the framework of this transaction, Russia intends to export grain to Iran, certain types of equipment and construction materials.
