Ulyukayev: the key rate may fall in June, but not below 10%

Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev did not rule out that in June the central bank will lower its key rate, but not lower than 10%.

According to him, today there is an opportunity for significant downward adjustments in the key rate. This is what is expected by the end of 2015, inflation will be lower than last year, when it amounted to 11.4%. In this regard, the economic risks are now higher than the inflationary ones.

In this situation, a significant reduction in the key rate would be consistent with the risk weighting of exposures,  RBC reports. The current key rate is 12.5%. Its value may be reviewed at the next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank, which is scheduled for June 15.
