Report on Extractive Industries Transaparency Initiative for first half of 2010 published in Azerbaijan

A meeting of the multilateral group on the application of the
Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Azerbaijan,
took place today at the Azerbaijani State Oil Fund, APA reports.

As reported by the State Oil Fund, the thirteenth Report of the EITI
in Azerbaijan for the first half of 2010 has been published, as well
as the auditor's report on it carried out by international auditing
firm Moore Stephens.

The EITI conference held in London in 2003 identified the main
criteria and principles of the EITI, including the use of the proceeds
derived from the natural resources of a country for the welfare of its
population, as well as the transparency of company payments.
