Hotel Association of Azerbaijan consolidates with Tourism Association

The merging of the Association of Tourism and Hotel Association of
Azerbaijan took place today in Baku during a round table with the
representatives of the tourist companies and hotels, Trend reports.

As a result of the round table, a decision on maintaining the
authority of Nahid Bagirov at his post has been taken, as well as on
appointing Siyavush Eganly, who previously served as a board member of
the Hotel Association, as a deputy chairman to the Tourism
Association.

The basis for further activities of the Association was adopted today
and is represented by a joint memorandum on mutual cooperation of the
travel agencies and hotels.

According to the document, travel companies need to protect the
interests of hotels, they collaborate with, organize the advertisement
of the hotels at the local and international exhibitions. Also,
following the round table, it was decided to establish a working group
to tackle mutual problems.

Association of Tourism of Azerbaijan was established with the
assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in January 2009. The
board members are the executives of Improtex Travel, Caspian Travel,
Pasha Travel, Silkway Travel and Euroturizm.
