Iranian authorities restrict prices of essential goods

Iran has banned the prices of 22 types of food and essential
commodities from rising, Trend reports, with reference to the Iranian
IRINN news agency.

The list of essential commodities includes rice, vegetable oil, sugar,
meat, poultry, eggs, bread, dairy products (milk, yogurt, butter,
cheese), pasta, legumes (lentils, beans, peas, etc.) and cereals (
barley, corn), tea, dates, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, tomato paste,
fruit (apples, bananas) and citrus (tangerines and oranges), washing
powder, steel, cement, paper (newspapers, publications) and tires (for
cars, trucks and buses).

In order to prevent a sharp rise in prices, the Ministry of Commerce
of Iran has signed an agreement with manufacturers and ensured
supplies of 13 kinds of basic commodities in the country.
