This year Russia will increase financing of the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) by 13% percent to solve the problem of unemployment in the region, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the data of the International Labor Organization the level of unemployment in the North Caucasus is 20%, that is about 820 thousand of people, noted President’s representative in the NCFD, Alexander Khloponin during the meeting in Essentuki.
The specific character of the region is “high birthrate and density of population”, as pointed out deputy health minister Maxim Topilin.
He also added that this situation is padoxical, since Russia makes enormous efforts to increase the population, while the region with the highest birth rate suffers from unemployment.
