Baku-Samur road opens after reconstruction

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took part in the major
reconstruction of the 28-45 kilometre section of the road from Baku to
the Russian state border, AzerTag reports.

Transport Minister Ziya Mamedov informed President Ilham Aliyev about
the technical features of the road. The four-line road is 17 km long,
its asphalt is 15 m wide and 23 cm thick. The traffic strip is 5 m
wide. The sideways are 3.75 m wide. 200 units of engineering and up to
300 people were involved in reconstruction. Foreign specialists were
also involved. The territory of the construction renewed water and
communication lines. 10 cross-overs and 5 road junctions with a total
length of 9.5 km were built.

Aliyev congratulated the road workers. He said that Azerbaijan had
spent billions of mantas on the improvement of traffic and road
infrastructure.
