Iran plans to develop commercial ties with Islamic countries

Iran plans to send trade consultants to 15 Islamic countries,
including Azerbaijan, to develop commercial ties, Iranian Deputy
Minister of Commerce Babek Afghekhi said, Trend reports, citing Moj.


The deputy minister reported earlier that in the first half of 2010
(the year starts on March 21 in Iran) the rate of exports in the
non-oil sector rose by 31% compared with the same period last year,
reaching $12.3 billion. Import operations worth $29.6 billion were
realized, exceeding the indicators of the same period last year by
24%.


Exports of non-oil products increased by 32% to countries of the
Persian Gulf, by 66% to countries of South-East Asia, by 27% to
countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), by 13% to EU
countries and by 17% to neighbouring countries, Afghekhi said.
