Armenia reduces customs fees in diplomatic missions

The Armenian parliament has introduced a bill on state customs fees
for the final reading on Tuesday, which concerns Armenian diplomatic
offices and consulates, News Armenia reports.


Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan said
that the changes will lift functions and services from consulates and
embassies which are not being realized and providing them with
services they have recently started offering.


There will be a single fee and reduction of customs fees for services.
Consulting services were split into 4 groups depending on the country
with each having its own fee. The new law will introduce a single fee,
Kocharyan said.


He noted that the services in German were more expensive by 50%,
compared with other countries.


Kocharyan emphasized that the changes will mainly concern CIS countries.
There will also be simplified mechanisms for transfer of finances from
the customs fees to the state budget. The fee lists are available in
the Internet. Kocharyan said that the system will have the monitoring
of requests, letters and complaints.
