The construction of a by-pass railway route has begun in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi. At 3 km part of Kaheti railway line utility poles have been removed to clear the territory for railway construction. The project of "Tbilisi by-pass railway" is fulfilled by a joint venture of China Railway 23rd bureu group co. LTD" and LLC "Railway Construction".
"Georgian Railways" is also actively developing this project. As part of the preliminary project, 4 railway bridges, 1 tunnel and 5 km of the railway were built.
