Russian Parliament approves the draft budget

Today the State Duma adopted the draft budget in its second reading. 185 out of 482 proposed amendments to the budget were approved, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the Chairman of the Duma, Boris Gryzlov, while discussing the draft budget a lot of attention was paid to the development of street roads in towns and villages. Thus, 34 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the road network in towns; two thirds of the sum for the first time will be given to extend roads inside residential districts and only one third will go to street development. Another 5 billion will be allocated for improvements to roads in villages. In addition, the federal budget will spend 500 million rubles to support a program for the development of kindergartens.
