Countries of the Customs Union sign agreement on common macroeconomic policy

Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, the members of the Customs Union, have signed an agreement on a common macroeconomic policy, RIA Novosti reports.

This agreement between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus implies that from 2013 on, for the sustainable development of their economies, they will undertake to keep their budget deficits within 3% of GDP, state debt within 50% of GDP and inflation no more than five percent higher than the lowest rate among the three states.

In addition, the parties signed an agreement on common principles and rules of competition, on collaboration against illegal migration and on the legal status of migrant workers and their families.
