Adygeya has concluded harvesting and the planting of winter crops. The
planting was under threat in October due to heavy rains, RIA Novosti
reports, citing the press service of the republic’s head.
Adygeya planted over 105,000 hectares, exceeding the previous year’s
indicator by 1,500. Adygeya has been harvesting record amounts of
grain in the last three years.
Farmers were working in three shifts, planting up to 7,000 hectares
daily. The Agriculture Minister of Adygeya, Yuri Petrov, said that 70%
of the fields are showing good shoots. All farmers will get subsidies
when purchasing fertilizers.
Adygeya is fulfilling its demand for sugar beet, and covers 60% of its
demand for flour. The republic harvested approximately 19,000 tons of
rice from 4,000 hectares.
The problem of the roadside lands of the Takhtamukay and Maikop
Regions, which are not properly cultivated, has not yet been solved.
The Security Council of Adygeya will consider the issue, the message
says.
