Iran will continue to enrich uranium up to 20%. In September 2011, the
country will fulfill its demand for the fuel, ITAR-TASS reports,
citing Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mahmud Reza Sadjadi.
The ambassador commented on the talks of the "six" on December 5 in
Geneva, saying that the priority issue of the Iranian side is
discussion of a package of Tehran"s proposals.
The situation with Iranian nuclear program complicated after February
11, 2010, when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced that
Tehran produced its first portion of uranium enriched to 20% and has
potential for higher enrichment. He also told about the plans to
triple production of low-enriched uranium.
Tehran refuses to halt its nuclear activities. As a result the UN
Security Council passed resolution 1929 introducing additional
international sanctions against Iran.
