According to recent statistics of the World Steel Association, Iran and Turkey are the two major steel manufacturers in the Middle East, Iran.ru reports.
The volumes of steel-making in Turkey grew by 12.6% in the first 10 months of 2009 to 23,627 million tons.
As for Iran, its volumes of steel-making grew by 6.4% and accounts for 9,855 million tons.
The report states that among 66 countries the biggest steel manufacturer is China.
