The Russian economy has overcome recession and has significantly recovered since July 2009, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin announced in the State Duma today, reporting on the work of government in 2009, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, production volume increased by 5,8% in the first quarter of 2009, and the average real income of the population increased by 7,4%. Putin said these results were grounds for optimism. The Prime Minister recalled that GDP is forecast to increase by 3.1% in 2010, noting that growth may be more substantial.
