The speaker of the lower chamber of the Tajik parliament, Shukurzhon
Zukhurov, who is on a visit to Iran, had a meeting with the Iranian
Minister of Agriculture, Sadek Haliliyan. They discussed increasing
investments and exchanging experience in processing agricultural
products, production of dairy products, leather and fur products,
seeds, development of animal husbandry and fishing, Iran News reports.
Zukhurov noted that approximately 80% of the Tajik population is
involved in agriculture and is ready to cooperate with Iranian
partners in all spheres, including agriculture.
Haliliyan emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties
between Iran and Tajikistan and fulfillment of the agricultural
agreements reached. Tajikistan will send a group of specialists to
study the agricultural potential of both countries and improvement of
cooperation.
The Iranian minister expressed hope that Iranian agricultural projects
would be realized in Tajikistan before Independence Day.
