The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the government officials
have visited the Central Province in Delijan where they took part in
opening the largest polyether plant in the country, which will meet
the country's demands for the product, Iran News reports, citing
national media.
The plant takes up 40,000 square meters and was built in the
industrial zone of Delijan.
The polyether plant is worth approximately $17 million and was built
by the private sector.
Iran will no longer need to import polyether and can export it
instead, saving $25 million annually.
The project is peculiar for the support of ecology. The plant will
process used plastic bottles.
The plant will produce up to 15 000 tons of polyether fibre annually,
which will be used in the spinning mills, textile and furniture
production, doll production, carpet and clothes making.
