Russia negotiates construction of second nuclear power plant in Turkey

Russian Vice-Premier Igor Sechin said in Istanbul on Wednesday that
Russia is negotiating the construction of the second nuclear power
plant in Turkey, RIA Novosti reports.


The new power plant will be in the province of Sinop. The Turkish
deputy minister said on Wednesday that Russia may participate in the
project.


Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that they are also
negotiating with Japan.


The negotiations were initially held with South Korea, but brought no results.
Taner Yildiz will visit Tokyo next week to discuss construction of the
second nuclear power plant, the Energy Ministry reports.
