Turkey has started testing its first high-speed train, which will be
launched between Ankara and Konya. The train is worth approximately 50
million Turkish liras, TRT reports.
Turkey has recently opened a high-speed railway line.
Turkish Minister of Transport Taner Yildiz presented the train.
The first tests will be held on December 17, Turkish Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be at the event.
The testing will be completed in summer 2011, then the railway branch
will be launched. The new train will reduce the time to travel between
Ankara and Konya by 1 hour 15 minutes.
