Vardan Arutunyan becomes head of ArmRosgazprom

ArmRosgazprom will be headed by Vardan Arutunyan, its former deputy
director, the former Director General of ArmRosgazprom Karen
karapetyan said, News Armenia reports.


Karen Karapetyan has been elected the new mayor of Yerevan, introduced
by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, leader of the ruling Republican
Party.


The previous mayor Gagik Beglaryan resigned on December 8 after the
scandal of his beating up Aram Kandayan, member of the protocol
service of the presidential administration.


The press-secretary of ArmRosgazprom Shushan Sardanyan had told ARKA
earlier about the coming council of directors of the company, where
Vardan Arutunyan was to be introduced to head the company.


Until the council Arutunyan will be the acting head of the company.


The Armenian-Russia company ArmRosgazprom is a monopolist in supplies
and distribution of the Russian natural gas on the interior market of
Armenia. Its shareholders are Gazprom and the government of Armenia.
