Iranian car industry switches to gas

Iran produced 254,814 cars running on petrol and gas from March 21 to November 21, 2010. This exceeds the previous year’s indicator by 95%, Iran News reports.


Iran Khodro produced 150,229 bi-fuel cars (a 161.2% growth), Saipa – 68,240 of such cars (14.4%), Pars Khodro – 36,461 (161.4%).


Iran is equipping Peugeot 206, Peugeot 405, Peugeot Pars, Peugeot Roa, Reno Tonder 90, Samand and some Pride models with the bi-fuel system.


Iran produced 878,304 cars in the first 8 months of this year, which exceeds the previous year’s figures by 19.2%.
