The Oil Minister of Egypt, Samih Fahmi, has welcomed Azerbaijani
Minister of Industry and Energy, Natig Aliyev, on his visit to Egypt,
APA reports, citing the Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt.
Aliyev met the Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and Fahmi. He
observed the technological opportunities for oil production. Aliyev
visited the MIDOR-Middle East Oil Refinery, SUMED-Arab Petroleum Co.,
Enppi-Engineering for the Petroleum and Processing Industries and
Petrojet in Alexandria. The companies specialize in receiving,
processing and transporting oil and gas. Experts from the companies
made presentations to the Azerbaijani president.
At a meeting with Prime Minister Nazif, Aliyev noted that the two
countries have potential to improve trade turnover. The Egyptian prime
minister emphasized the interest in relations with Azerbaijan,
especially in exporting and refining oil and gas.
Fahmi recalled his fruitful visit to Azerbaijan in June this year.
Aliyev said that using the infrastructure of the sea ports of Egypt in
the Mediterranean and Red Seas allows Azerbaijani oil to reach markets
in south-east Asia in greater quantities. Aliyev invited the Egyptian
oil minister to visit Azerbaijan.
