Era of privatization vouchers ends in Azerbaijan

At the National Deposit Center under the State Committee on Capital Issues of Azerbaijan, 600 privatization vouchers are stocked.

In the last two years their number has decreased dramatically. Their owners are a couple of dozen investors, Trend reports.

The head of the State Committee, Rufat Aslanly, is sure that in the near future the owners will use the vouchers.

Implementation of privatization vouchers will cease on the 31st of December 2010. The system of privatization vouchers was established in 1996. 31.9 million vouchers were given to the population. Throughout the period of privatization 25.5 million vouchers were debited, i.e. 80% of all vouchers.
