SOCAR (the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic) has launched
its sixth petrol station in Azerbaijan. The new fuel station in Baku
is located on the Zykh Highway. The head of the company, Rovnag
Abdullayev, was at the opening ceremony, Trend reports.
SOCAR plans to open 26-30 fuel stations in Azerbaijan.
The demand for fuel on the domestic market of Azerbaijan increased by
4% in January-November 2010, compared with the same period in 2009.
The State Committee for Statistics says that 3.6 million tons of oil
products were sent to the country's internal market in 11 months,
961,700 tons of which were petrol. Petrol sales in this period grew
6.3% compared to January-November last year. 1 ton of A-92 petrol
costs 670 AZN on the interior market, A-95 costs 736 AZN.
