The council for foreign investments has refused to sell Alfa-port to
Iran’s Khazar Sea Shipping Lines, RIA Novosti cites the head of the
Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, Igor Artemyev.
The decision is due to the international sanctions against Iran. The
company was put on the blacklist. Moreover, the company refused to
reveal its owner, Artemyev said.
The UN Security Council passed a resolution on June 2010, introducing
new sanctions against Iran. It is the fourth resolution of the UN
Security Council on Iran, passed due to Tehran’s refusal to fulfil
international demands and clarify issues concerning its nuclear
program.
