Iran has opened a tender for construction of the Shiraz - Jekhrom -
Lar - Bander-Abbas railway, Iran News reports.
The head of the railroad administration and transport of Shakhrestan
Lar Amiri said that the base price for the tender is approximately
$800 million. He expressed hope that the 540 km-long Shiraz - Jekhrom
- Lar - Bander-Abbas railway will be built by a private company in 3
years.
The railway will connect the coast of the Persian Gulf, through Fars
with the central and western regions of the country. It the most
significant infrastructure project in the Fars Province.
Fars has a 500km-long Shiraz-Isfaghan railway, launched 2 years ago.
