Iran and China agree on joint construction of 5,000 km of railroads

Masoud Rahnema, Deputy Minister of Roads and Transport of Iran and
head of the Iranian company for construction and development of
transport infrastructure, said in an interview with IRNA that Iran and
China have signed an agreement on joint realization of 9 projects,
which include construction of 5,000 km of railroads.


Masoud Rahnema visited Beijing. He said that realization of the
project will cost approximately $12 billion, News.am reports.


Rahnema spoke about the signing of a protocol between the railroad
agencies of Iran and China. The document consists of six points. It
involves exchange of technologies, construction of high-speed railways
and investment in railway projects such as Tehran-Mashhad,
Erak-Melayer-Kermanshakh-Horsavi, Kazvin-Resht-Astara and
Tehran-Kum-Esfaghan.
