Armenia plans to become biofertilizer exporter

Armenia plans to become a biofertilizer exporter in three years,
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said, News Armenia reports.
Armenia has approved the Azotovit-1 program, reducing the need for
fertilizer imports.


Armenia decided to start developing the biofertilizer market on
October 21. 65 communities with 30 hectares tested the Azotovit-1 and
Azotseovit-1 biofertilizers, which demonstrated high productivity,
increasing harvests by 30% and improving the soil.


Yerevan started biofertilizer production. The company is ready to
fulfill the country’s demands for fertilizers.


Armenia imports approximately 25,000-30,000 tons of nitric
fertilizers, mainly from Georgia, Iran and Russia.
