Rumours about a possible rise in energy prices on the domestic market of Azerbaijan do not correspond to reality, claimed the head of the Public Relations department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Abbas Aliyev, Trend reports.
Prices for petroleum products in Azerbaijan are regulated by the state. The last time energy prices were increased was by the Tariff Council in early 2007.
Petroleum products in Azerbaijan are produced by two refineries with a total annual capacity of 20 million tons of oil. Both plants are part of the SOCAR company (the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic).
