Construction of a water canal from the Caspian Sea to Semnan Province is underway, Iran's Energy Minister Majid Namdz said, Trend reports.
Namdz explained that one of the main problems of Semnan Province is lack of water.
"We are carrying out studies for the construction of a water channel, and we hope the province's water problem will be solved after the confirmation of the funds needed for the construction," he added.
The length of the water channel being built from the Caspian Sea to Semnan Province is approximately 70 milometers. Investment amounting to $15 million is required for the project's realization.
