Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan has presented the new Minister
of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan today, News Armenia reports.
Karapetyan was appointed on 31 December 2010 by President Serzh
Sargsyan, replacing Gerasim Alaverdyan.
According to the prime minister, Karapetyan was heading Armenia’s
largest processing enterprise, the canned food factory ‘Artfood’ in
Artashat. It is the first enterprise to switch to modernized
production. The premier said that the success of the enterprise is the
achievement of Karapetyan.
He thanked the former minister of agriculture, Gerasim Alaverdyan, for
his work, noting that Alaverdyan was heading the ministry at a very
complicated time for Armenia.
