Azerbaijan to start copper sales

The Anglo Asian Mining plc, gold extraction company in Azerbaijan,
plans to start selling copper concentrate in early 2011 due to high
prices for copper on the world market, Trend reports, citing the
company.

The company produced copper concentrate containing approximately 47.5
tons of copper, 380kg of silver and 6.8kg of gold in the fourth
quarter of 2010. The company produced copper concentrate containing
approximately 182.5 tons of copper, 1460kg of silver and 25.9kg of
gold in 2010.

The sale of 400 tons of un-purified copper was approved by the
government. The first sales will be carried out in the first quarter
of 2011.

Restoration and processing of copper will start in February. The
factory will have automatic production, producing 1800 tons of copper
concentrate annually. The capacity will depend on the mineralogy of
ores and the efficiency of processes. The company is currently
evaluating the variants of copper and silver sales, extracted from the
concentrate.

The Anglo Asian Mining PLC has a license for developing six deposits
in south-east Azerbaijan: Gedabek, Ordubad, Gosha Bulag, Gyzyl Bulag,
Vezhnali and Soyutlu. The PSA agreement was signed with the
Azerbaijani government in August 1997.
