According to the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture, the country
exported 160,500 sheep in 2010. 53,100 of them were exported to
Armenia, 40,300 to Iran and 23,300 to Azerbaijan. Sheep exports
dropped by 40%. One sheep costs 120-180 lari, News.am reports.
The sheep exported to Armenia were most likely sent on to Iran.
Iran imported 142,000 sheep from Armenia in 2009. The information for
2010 has not been published yet. 100,000 sheep are believed to have
been exported.
