Abkhaz president Sergei Bagapsh has met with the First Vice President of Rosneft, Eduard Hudainatov. They discussed further cooperation and the building of a number of gas-stations on the territory of the republic, reports Georgia Online.
According to Hudainatov, a delegation of Rosneft representatives has arrived in Abkhazia to visit the three sites allocated for the building of the gas-stations and to discuss future cooperation with the authorities of the republic.
In late 2009 the director of "RN-Shelf Abkhazia", Vadim Ivantsov, and Minister for the Economy, Kristina Ozgan, signed an agreement on the terms of oil-and-gas field exploration in the Gudautskii region in the Black Sea.
The president of Rosneft announced that investment in Abkhazia will exceed 15 billion roubles, and the company will carry out geological prospecting work in a territory measuring approximately 3900 sq. km.
"These are very good investments, - he said. - We can say that the company has really good intentions. We have experience in cooperation with Abkhazia. For a couple of months we have been delivering fuel and gas to the republic of Abkhazia, and the Abkhazian side was satisfied with our quality of service. It will provide the republic with jobs, taxes, and everything that attracts big business. "
The Abkhazian president emphasised that the republic will benefit from this deal.
