Georgia searches for alternative to Russian wheat

Due to the halting of Russian grain exports, Georgia has started searching for a new supplier, said the president of the company Agrocom, Ketevan Kublashvili, reports Business Georgia
The leading importer says that it is possible to buy grain from Canada or the USA, but it will be much more expensive.
Kublashvili said that the situation will affect the cost of bread. The price of Russian grain was 250 dollars a ton and imports from over countries will cost 350-380 dollars a ton. According to Ketevan Kublashvili, Agrocom is a partner of the international company Bunge and hopes to find a new importer with their help.
Georgia produces only 10-15% of the grain it requires. The rest was imported from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. According to the national statistics service of Georgia, their country has already imported 50% more grain than last year.
