Chechen president urges doubling of farmland area

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov has met the Minister of Agriculture
Abubakar Edelgeriyev to discuss the doubling of farmland area in the
republic, Yuga.ru reports.

"Agriculture is one of the priority areas of the Chechnyan economy.
But a lot of land remains idle. If we do not start cultivating the
land, it will be harder to have a good harvest in the future. I
believe we should double the cultivated area this year," Kadyrov said.
These measures will create extra jobs and provide the domestic market
with its own products, he added.
