RusHydro to invest 64 billion rubles in North Caucasus

The RusHydro company will build water power plants with a total capacity of over 3 GWt in the North Caucasus Federal District by 2025, the chairman of the board Evgeny Dod said during a regional energy development meeting, reports RIA Novosti. The company's total capacity in the North Caucasus is currently 2.4 GWt.

"The North Caucasus is a unique territory and a vital region for the development of small and medium water energy. The total hydro capacity of the small rivers in the region exceed 4.5 GWt,"Dod said .

He also added that during the near five years the company is planning to spent more than 64 billion rubles on the project.
