Azerbaijan and Russia's Stavropol Territory will sign an agreement on
Wednesday on economic, scientific and cultural cooperation,
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Gasanov said at a business forum
in Baku, Trend reports.
Foreign turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia totalled $1.8 billion
in 2009, which is some 60% higher than the average turnover between
CIS countries, Gasanov said.
Foreign trade turnover with Stavropol reached $123 million last year,
twice the 2004 showing, the deputy premier also said. However,
turnover between the former Soviet republic and the Russian region
dropped 30% in 2009 from $200 million in 2008.
