Construction of a dual carriageway leading to Resort Avenue in Sochi
will cost 100 billion rubles, the head of direction of road
construction on the Black Sea coast, Vladimir Kuzhel, told
journalists, ITAR-TASS reports.
The road will be built in three stages: the first, the transport
crossing over the Agura river to Zemlianichnaya Street, started this
spring and will be finished in 2012, The second and third – will be
completed by 2013.
Kuzhel said that the construction is going according to schedule. The
work will require demolition of 105 individual houses, and acquiring
parcels of land belonging to 20 legal bodies.
The deputy head of Sochi, Sergey Yurchenko, said that they have
already had preliminary negotiations with the owners of the land. 42%
of them want to receive compensation in cash. Others will receive new
housing.
The new road will be of national significance. It will be 16 km long,
consisting of 9 tunnels and 13 bridges covering 8 km. It will have 4
traffic lanes with an average speed of 75 km/h. The chief architect
said that the road will be given a name after launching.
