Iran is boycotting the Council of the Parliament Assembly of the
Organization of the Islamic Conference in Abu Dhabi.
Iran will not participate in the conference as a protest against the
United Arab Emirates, a spokesman of the Commission for National
Security and Foreign Policy of the Iranian parliament Kyazim Jalili
said, IRINN reports.
He said that the conference in Abu Dhabi has neither political, nor
legal authority. The conference of the Executive Committee of the OIC
PA is held once every two years, the council is held annually. A
meeting of the Executive Committee for a second year in a row is
illegal, Jalili said.
According to the official, the PA OIC conference is to be held in
Indonesia. The UAE is holding an extraordinary session to introduce
amendments to the PA charter.
The OIC PA Council will start on January 17 in the capital of UAE Abu Dhabi.
