Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has urged parliament to engage in
active work to forge interethnic and interfaith dialogue, but has
again opposed the idea of re-establishing the Ministry for
Nationalities, RIA Novosti reports.
The head of the state noted, that parliament and the Federal Assembly
should be involved in daily work in order to maintain the social
stability.
"What we should not do, in my opinion, is to create new structures ...
attempts to create another bureaucratic structures like the Ministry
for Nationalities will never solve these problems, "- said Medvedev.
Xenophobia and inter-ethnic conflict came into focus after the riots
on Manezghnaya Square in Moscow on December 11.
