Russia, NATO to cooperate in missile defense

Russia and NATO will discuss cooperation in the sphere of establishing a territorial system of missile defense of Europe, the secretary general of NATO, Anders Fog Rasmussen, said, RIA Novosti reports.

Russia and NATO agreed on cooperation in this sphere at a bilateral summit in Lisbon on November 20, 2010.

NATO counts on establishing two independent but synchronised coordinated systems. It will provide Russia with transparent information on NATO's missile defense system to make Moscow sure that it is not anti-Russian.
