President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai said in Moscow that his country
views Russia as an important strategic partner and called it a great
political, economic and military force, RIA Novosti reports.
Karzai said that the trade turnover between the two countries is
rising, coming close to $500 million last year. Afghanistan is
inviting Russian business. The president added that Russia is also a
partner against drug-trafficking.
Karzai noted that ties with the USA are improving as well, but
economic ties with Russia are much stronger.
