EU Special Representative for S.Caucasus to discuss regional trends in Baku

The EU special representative for South Caucasus, Peter Semneby, will
visit Baku from January 23-24, Trend reports.

The main purpose of the visit is to discuss the ongoing processes in
Azerbaijan and the entire South Caucasus.

During the visit, Semneby will hold regular consultations with the
Azerbaijani authorities, as well as meet with the Azerbaijani
ombudsman and representatives of civil society.

In late May last year, EU Foreign Minister, Catherine Ashton, offered
to withdraw the EU Special Representative from the South Caucasus and
Moldova -  zones of so-called "frozen conflicts".
